If you're dreaming of an all-inclusive resort surrounded by mountains, ocean views and relaxing tropical vibes, Barcelo Puerto Vallarta might just be the perfect getaway!
During our trip to Puerto Vallarta, we stayed at Barcelo Puerto Vallarta and we were honestly blown away by the scenery. Nestled along the beautiful Mismaloya Beach, this resort feels tucked away from the busy city while still offering plenty to do both on and off the property.
First Impressions:
The first thing we noticed when arriving was the incredible mountain backdrop surrounding the resort. Unlike many flat beachfront resorts, Barcelo has a more tropical jungle feel, which makes the views feel even more unique and relaxing.
The lobby was spacious, clean and open air with stunning ocean views that instantly gave us that "vacation mode"
The Rooms:
One thing we really loved about this resort is that every room is a suite-style room. That means more space, a sitting area and a balcony to enjoy the beautiful Puerto Vallarta sunsets. Many rooms also offer incredible ocean views, which we highly recommend if you can upgrade.
Food & Drinks:
As with most all-inclusive resorts, the food can vary depending on personal taste, but overall we found there to be a good variety of options throughout the resort.

- Desserts
- Fresh Fruit and Snacks
There are also a la carte restaurants available, which helps breaks up the buffet experience during longer stays.
And yes - there are plenty of drinks available throughout the day by the pools!
The Pools & Beach:
The pool area was one of our favorite parts of the resort. There are multiple poops, plenty of lounge chairs and amazing ocean views almost everywhere you look.
The beach itself is smaller and more secluded compared to the main Puerto Vallarta hotel zone, but that actually made it feel more peaceful and relaxing.
If you plan on booking excursions, you might actually find a really great deal from the company directly on the beach compared to booking online.
Things to Know Before You Go:
✅The resort is about 30-40 minutes from downtown Puerto Vallarta
✅Wear bug spray! The mosquitos are tiny there but they leave a nasty and itchy bite!
Final Thoughts:
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Barcelo Puerto Vallarta. The scenery, relaxing atmosphere and pools made it feel like a true getaway.
If you're looking for a more laid-back all inclusive experience surrounded by nature while still having access to excursions, this resort is definitely worth considering!
Would we stay again? Absolutely!
